Do You Know Jesus?
The Bible teaches that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ alone. Jesus said in John 14:6 – "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
A person cannot do good works or good deeds to get into Heaven.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
No matter what denomination you are here is what the Bible teaches about Salvation:
1. You must realize and admit that you are a sinner:
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
This means no one is good enough to go to Heaven by good works. No matter how much good we do, we will always fall short because we have all sinned and broken God’s Law.
2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us. Romans 10:9 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
3. You must be willing to repent and to turn from your sin.
Jesus said in Luke 13:5 – I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior.
Romans 10:10 – For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
